Owen William Miller, 78, of Broadway passed away February 5, 2024 at the Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.

He was born April 9, 1945 in Harrisonburg to the late Raymond and Susie Dove Miller.

Owen graduated from Broadway High School in 1964.  He worked a total of 43 years and 7 months for VDOT, first at Chimney Rock and retiring from Mauzy where he was a supervisor for 16 years.  He was a member of the Woods Chapel Independent Bible Church near New Market where he was active in the deaf ministry alongside his wife.  Owen was a family man, family being very important to him.  His hobbies included cutting wood, coon hunting and bear hunting.

On April 19, 1986 he married the former Virginia "Ginny" Holler, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Theresa Whetzel and husband Byron of Broadway; step son Frank W. Wilkins and wife Teresa of Linville; grandchildren, Bryce Whetzel and wife Ellen of Grottoes, Brynn Whetzel of Collinsville, VA; great granddaughter, Eloise Whetzel; step grandson, Lukas William Alt of Rockingham; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, James Holler and wife Lois of Broadway.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Alva Combs, Lennis Nesselrodt, Pauline Davis; brother-in-law, Howard Holler, Jesse Holler.

Pastors Glen Turner and Stanley Salyards will conduct a funeral service 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Woods Chapel Ind. Bible Church.  Burial will follow at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
