Richard Douglas "Rick" Miller, 76, of Moorefield WV, passed away on April 4, 2026 at his residence.

He was born on September 22, 1949 in Bakersfield, California to the late Bascum Douglas Miller and Barbara Eleanore Brown.

He was a dedicated family man with a profound love for nature and a passion for hunting. Those who knew him will fondly remember his sense of humor, zest for life, and his faith in the Lord. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in every memory, practical joke, and funny story that he loved to tell.

On October 19, 1996, Rick married the former Monette Kay Smith who preceded him in death on September 29, 2020. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded by a beloved sister, Pamela Hughes.

Rick is survived by his brothers Claude Douglas Miller of Homosassa FL, and Bart Miller of Atascadero CA, and Scott Douglas Miller of Bakersfield CA; sisters Susan Brownfield of Chico CA, Andrea "Janeen" Springer of Sacramento CA; sons Philip Miller (Diane) of Timberville VA, Robert "Robbie" Miller (Kara) of Broadway VA, and Dana Miller of Mathias WV; daughters Barbara "Barbie" Riggleman (Roger) of Mt. Jackson VA, Resha Smith (Derick) of Mathias WV, and Rebecca Strawderman (David) of Moorefield WV; grandchildren Kyle Miller of Woodstock VA, Lacey McKinney (Douglas) of Brenton WV, Lauren Miller of Gaithersburg MD, Gavin Riggleman of Mt. Jackson VA, Donovan Smith of Mathias WV, Dalton Smith of Mathias WV, and Jasper Strawderman of Moorefield WV; step grandchildren Brian Ours of Moorefield WV, and Riley Strawderman of Moorefield WV; great-grandchildren Adalyn Miller of New Market VA and Keaton McKinney of Brenton WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday April 18, 2026 from 2pm-4pm at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway. Please dress casually.
