Richard "Buzzy" Ray Taylor, 77, of Broadway, VA passed away July 7, 2026 at his residence.

He was born March 8, 1949 in Harrisonburg to the late Randolph Ray and Helen Kuykendall Taylor.

Buzzy, the CEO of Benny's Beach, was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the Chimney Rock VFW and Timberville Moose Club. An enthusiast of old cars, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Buzzy is survived by his wife, Charlotte Carr of Broadway; his sister, Carolyn "Sissy Raye" McInturff and husband Ron Wenger of Broadway; one niece, Karen Richardson of Charleston, SC, a cousin; Debbie Vigar of Harrisonburg; and one stepson, Ben Carr of Linville.

His stepson, Randy Carr preceded him in death.

Pastor Ray Hatcher will conduct a graveside service 12:00 PM Saturday at Mtn. Grove Cemetery in Fulks Run.

A guestbook will be available to sign Friday from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.  The casket will be closed.
