Richard Ellis Sharpe, 86, of Harrisonburg and formerly of Timberville, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on November 25, 2025 at Brookdale of Harrisonburg.

He was born December 18, 1938 in Mingo, WV and was a son to the late Hughes and Gladys Swecker Sharpe.

Richard was the owner of Sharpe Home Improvement.  He was a dedicated member of his church community and found joy in both fishing and skiing.  Whether spending time in his shop working on a new project or lending his construction skills to those in need, he was always ready to offer his time and talent to others.

On September 17, 1983 he married the former Kathy Kmetz, who preceded him in death on May 23, 2024.

Surviving him is a daughter; Michelle Frye and husband Chris, a son; Michael Sharpe and wife Rebecca, a daughter; Samantha Altenberger and husband Chad, a brother; Phillip Sharpe and wife Penny, a sister; Judy Young and husband Edward and five grandchildren; Elizabeth Sharpe, Andrew Sharpe, Brandon Campanella, Amanda Campanella, Daniel Campanella.

He was preceded in death by a daughter; Gwenn Campanella and a brother; Larry Sharpe.

Pastor Yosvany Pereira will conduct a memorial service Saturday, December 6 at 3:00 PM at Sunset Drive United Methodist Church in Broadway.

There will not be any services at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
