Obituary

Robert Louis Adams, 98, of Timberville, died Monday, September 9, 2024 at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, with his family by his side.

Robert served two and a half years with the Army during World War II and in September of 1946 entered Washington and Lee with two older brothers.  After graduation and for 16 years, Robert worked for the Federal Housing Administration.  For the next 15 years, he worked for the Department of Education.

On March 22, 1958 he married the former Karma Curtis of Washington, DC.  Robert and Karma were co-owners of a family farm where they raised Aberdeen Angus cattle and raised their own grain, built buildings, and baled hay.

Robert retired in 1981 to the Shenandoah Valley.  He was an avid gardener.

Robert leaves behind his wife Karma, of 66 years, his sister Joan Vipperman, of Winchester, VA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pastor Donnie Owen will conduct a graveside service on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 2 PM at Fairview Church of the Brethren Cemetery on Fairview Church Road in Timberville, VA.

There will not be any services at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
