RoseAnne Lovak Johnson, 87, of Broadway, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at her daughter's home, in Timberville.

She was born on January 20, 1937, in Cicero, Illinois to the late Curtis W. and Anne Hartel Barthel.

Ms. Johnson's entire childhood and adolescent years were spent in Cicero. By the time she was in her early 20's, she graduated from St. Anthony De Padua School of Nursing in Chicago. After graduating, she dedicated her life to caring for others as a registered nurse for 60 years, finally retiring at the impressive age of 81. Her final place of employment was the Virginian Retirement Community in Fairfax, VA. In her spare time, she enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, reading romance novels and gardening with special attention toward her favorite flower, peonies. Her favorite music to listen to included anything sung by Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline or Jim Reeves.

RoseAnne is survived by her beloved children; Donald Lovak, Oriana Carter (Charlie),Edward Lovak, , Norman Lovak (Kelly), Andrea Daniels (William) and LeAnne Lovak; grandchildren, Jeff Carter, Casey Zinn, Willy Daniels, Kristie Lovak-Guzman, HollyAnne Lovak, Taryn Lovak, Wesley Daniels, Kasey Shepherd, Stephanee Lovak, Alexandra Scott, Joshua Lovak, Samantha Daniels and Tyler Shepherd; eighteen great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Agne; sister-in-law, Shirley Barthel and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Johnson; daughter, Taryn Lynn Lovak; brothers, Curtis Barthel Jr., Jimmy Barthel and William Thomas "Tom" Barthel.

Arrangements were handled by Grandle Funeral Home and her final resting place is at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA.

As we say farewell, we do so with love and gratitude. Her absence leaves a void, but her memory will remain. The memories like every time she was told, "I love you", her response was, "Love you more". She will always be in our minds and forever in our hearts.
