Sara Elizabeth Streett, 23, of Waynesboro formerly of New Market passed away December 29, 2023 at the Augusta Medical Center.

She was born April 29, 2000 in Tarpon Springs, FL to her father and Carrie Streett of New Market, and was later adopted by Thomas Streett of Mt. Jackson.

Sara was a 2018 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in Mt. Jackson where she excelled in basketball and later played for Randolph College.  Basketball was her love and passion, playing and later helping coach the girls' J.V. team at Waynesboro High School.  Sara was very outgoing, everyone loved her kindness, smile, and personality.  She loved taking trips to the beach with her family and was always known for keeping in touch with all of them near and far. Sara was a member of the Reformation Lutheran Church in New Market.  She most recently worked as a paralegal for PoindexterHill, P.C. in Waynesboro and as a server at Burtons Bar and Grill in Charlottesville.

Surviving in addition to her parents is a brother, Zachary Streett of New Market; grandparents, Charles Wertz and wife Sue of Broadway, Rickie Wertz of Broadway, Barbara Streett of Quicksburg; an aunt, Christie Frederick; numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Charles "Butch" Streett and an uncle, David Streett.

Pastor Brad Burke will conduct a memorial service at 2:00 PM Sunday at the Reformation Lutheran Church in New Market. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
