Shirley Barbara Anderson, 100, formerly of Broadway and later New Market, died peacefully on October 13, 2023 at Sunnyside Retirement Community.

She was born August 30, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY and was a daughter of the late Fredrick and Carolyn Moss Billstein.

Shirley was a real estate agent for Real Estate III in Harrisonburg and was a million dollar sales realtor up and down the valley, for multiple years. She was also a wonderful support to the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival, spearheading many fundraising events throughout the years. Her style and professionalism was an asset to all organizations she was involved with. She was also a past member of Sunset Drive United Methodist Church in Broadway.

She was married to Homer W. Anderson for 41 years before he passed away January 7, 2003.

Surviving her are a niece; Betty (Brian) Morrison, of Kenmore, WA, a nephew; Bob (Susan) Billstein, of Milwaukie, OR, and 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew, all living with their families in the Pacific Northwest.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Sunnyside Retirement Community for all the loving care they gave her over the many years.

Per Shirley's wishes, her body will be cremated and there will be no services.
