Shirley Temple Halterman Delawder, 86, of Broadway, VA passed away July 23, 2024, at her daughter's residence in Mt. Jackson.

She was born April 27, 1938, in Morrisville, VA to the late Simon Leonard Halterman and Maphia Snyder Staub.

Shirley was a waitress, cashier, and shift manager at Johnny Appleseed for 45 years. She attended Freelandia Bible Church when she accepted Jesus as her savior. She attended Faith Baptist Church for many years.

On March 30, 1984, she married James W. Delawder who preceded her in death September 14, 2022.

Surviving are two daughters, Debrah Dingledine (Charles) of Mt. Jackson, Kimberly Lane (Jay) of Mooresville, IN; one son, Mark Johnson(Leslie) of Mt. Jackson; stepchildren, Starlisa Delawder of Broadway, Torina Cook of Harrisonburg; half-brother, Chester Halterman of Manassas; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, David F. Johnson III; four sisters, Katherine Phillips, Gay Hanback, Janet Tucker, Margaret Cash; and one brother, Wayne Alford Halterman.

Entombment at Eastlawn Mausoleum will be private.
