Shirley Jean Matheney, 84, of Visalia, California, passed away on November 20, 2024 at her residence.

She was born on June 19, 1940 in Rockingham County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Theodore and Pammie Whetzel Strawderman.

She retired from California Pretzel after thirty years and was a member of Tulare Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Barry (Maleia) Jones of Tulare, California and Gary (April) Jones of Winlock, Washington, her granddaughters Kendall (Mark) Ahrens of Lewisville, Texas, Kristen (Jens) Young of Tulare, California, Cheyenne (Luis) Garcia of Orosi, California, Haleigh Jones of Clovis, California, Katie (Mike) Clark of Nye, Montana, Nicole (Zach) Braun of Onalaska, Washington, her grandsons Joe (Kristen) Jones of Alma, Missouri, Cody (Jessica) Jones of Shelton, Washington, Hunter Tugmon of Visalia, California and Beau Jones of Winlock, Washington, six great granddaughters and five great grandsons. She is also survived by her companion, Edward Ugalde.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Homer Matheney, her parents Theodore and Pammie Whetzel Strawderman, her son Charles Jones Jr, her daughter Beverly Jean Bauer and six siblings.

A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 7 at Timberville Cemetery, 145 Church St., Timberville, VA.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 7 at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
