Shirley Dee Shipe, 83, of Harrisonburg, died August 28, 2025 at VMRC, Wenger House in Harrisonburg.

She was born September 29, 1941 in Spokane, WA and was a daughter to the late Charles and Florrine Lindsey Burroughs.

She had worked at American Can Company in Harrisonburg.

On June 7, 1959 she married Arvin Wayne Shipe, who preceded her in death on May 11, 2018.

Surviving are two daughters; Tamerau Smith and husband Robert, of Hinton, Teresa Highnote and husband Tommy, of Seale, AL, a son; Timothy Shipe and wife Penny, of Stuarts Draft, six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a sister; Sherry Lopez, of AZ.

She was preceded in death by a brother; David Burroughs.

Her wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.  Burial will take place privately in the Shipe Family Cemetery, Mathias, WV.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway, VA.
