Stephen Clark Maguigan, 73, of New Market, died October 28, 2024 at Life Care Center of New Market.

He was born March 6, 1951 in Buffalo, NY and was a son to the late William Harvey and Virginia Smith Maguigan.

Stephen was a lawyer.  He played football and was a second team Academic All-American at Virginia Tech, where he graduated in 1973 and was awarded the prestigious Monteith Award, an award given by the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets.  He received his law degree from UVA.  Stephen was a veteran of the U.S. military.  He was a member for 25 years of First Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg.

Surviving is his wife of 52 years, the former Connie French.

Also surviving are one son; Christopher Maguigan, of Anchorage, AK,  one grandchildren; Toby Maguigan, two brothers; Michael Maguigan, of Atlanta, GA, Timothy Maguigan, of Murfreesboro, TN, and his dog; Annie.

He was preceded in death by a sister; Holly Maguigan.

His body will be cremated and there will be no services at this time.
