Timothy "Tim" Warren Turner, 61, of Broadway, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on June 4, 2026, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with ALS.

Tim was born on March 14, 1965, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Edwin and Betty Sue Turner.

He was preceded in death by his brother Jon Turner.

In 1983 he graduated from Patrick Henry High School. He then went on to attend James Madison University earning his bachelor's degree in Sports Management all while playing baseball for the Dukes and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.

Following graduation, Tim met the love of his life, Robin. They made their home together in a log cabin in the woods in Broadway, where they built a life with their boys, Beau and Bryce.

Tim began his professional career with Ryerson as a sales representative in the metals industry, where he worked diligently until his retirement in November 2025.

Tim was a member of Sunset Drive United Methodist Church in Broadway, where he and Robin were married 31 years ago and later had both their sons baptized. He was later named a lifetime member of the Board of Directors for the Virginia Deer Hunters Association, served as president of the Broadway Baseball Little League, and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Harrisonburg, VA.

Tim is survived by his loving wife, Robin, their two sons Beau (Ashleigh) and Bryce (Alli), his sisters-in-law Amy Turner, Beth Stryzs(Tom), brother-in-law Ross Wagner (Julia) and his mother-in-law Diane Wagner. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Jaine Rexrode (Trevor and Evelyn), Forest Turner (Tyler), Mason Turner (Savannah), Maddie Turner (Kody), Ally Stryzs Bazic (Max), Garrett Stryzs (Talia), Morgan Wagner, Tyler Wagner, and Grace Wagner. He was also survived by numerous Hoover and Turner cousins, his beloved Monterey Camp Family, and many dear friends who will continue to honor his legacy.

Tim was known throughout the Broadway community as a dedicated baseball coach mentor, and friend. For years, he poured his heart into coaching young athletes, shaping not only their skills on the field but also their character off the field. His players remember him as someone who believed in them, challenged them, and celebrated their growth—long after the final inning.

Beyond baseball, Tim had a deep passion for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He found peace in nature, especially in the quiet moments spent in the mornings as this is when he felt closest to God, stating it was a "time of watching the woods wake up." He especially treasured these times with his sons and others eager to learn the skills of hunting. He was often heard saying, "If we teach our kids to hunt, we won't be hunting for our kids." Tim faced his ALS diagnosis with strength, humility, and grace, inspiring others with his resilience and unwavering spirit. He often reflected that at times it felt like a blessing, as it brought friends from his past back into his life now.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held on June 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Broadway High School Auditorium. Family and friends are invited outside to the BHS baseball field following the service. A private burial will take place at Linville Creek Church at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ALS association or Bridging Voice, an organization dedicated to providing vital support and communication resources for those diagnosed with ALS and unable to speak for themselves. Staying connected and communicating with your family, friends, and the world is a vital part of who we are as human beings-and no diagnosis should ever take that away.

Tim Turner will be remembered not only for the games he coached, but for the lives he changed. His quiet leadership, deep compassion, and unwavering support left a lasting impact on all who knew him. The outpouring of love through acts of kindness shown to the family have been felt deeply as a message from God, bringing comfort and strength during this time. His legacy will live on in all who were blessed to know him and in those who had the opportunity to witness and carry forward the qualities he so faithfully lived every day.
