Obituary

Wilda Getz Ritchie, 90, of Broadway, died March 9, 2025 at Life Care Center of New Market.

She was born September 27, 1934 in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late George Ira and Anna Frances May Getz.

Wilda retired from National Fruit.  She was a member of Rader Lutheran Church in Timberville, Broadway Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary and Broadway Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

On March 9, 1957 she married Harry J. Ritchie, who preceded her in death on March 25, 2012.

Surviving her are a son; Jeff Ritchie, of Broadway, a daughter; Angie Hernandez and husband Tom, of Timberville, two grandsons; Joseph Ritchie and wife Alyssa, of Timberville, James Ritchie and girlfriend Lauren Hulvey, of Broadway, two grandchildren; Rhyett Ritchie, Bodhi Ritchie, a sister; Wilma Grimm, of Harrisonburg and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by siblings; Garnet Getz, Everette Getz, George Ira Getz, Jr., Catherine Getz Lemons and daughter-in-law; Nellie Sue Ritchie.

A private graveside service will be held at Rader Lutheran Cemetery in Timberville.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
