Jean Mauzy Fulk "Mom", a lifetime resident of Broadway, passed through to Heaven, fittingly on Christmas day. After a life of good health, and being on the go constantly, she was stopped by a brain aneurism.

"Mom" was born April 7, 1928, in the home she lived her entire life. "Mom" was the wife of the late Ernest W. Fulk (died 1989) with whom she operated Fulk's Live Poultry for 30 years.

"Mom" is survived by four beloved sons and daughters in law, all of Broadway: Steve and Linda, Marlin and Juanita, Kenton and Jan, Leslie and Donna; six grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, Travis, Tara, Taylor, and Bailey; five great grandchildren; and two nephews. In addition to "Dad", she was preceded in death by her parents, Elva and Frank, and her only sibling "Uncle" Paul Mauzy.

After working in the family business and raising her sons, she finished her last employment years by retiring from H.D. Lee Company, where she never missed a day in 17 years.

"Mom" enjoyed tending her garden, canning, and giving most of it away. She also enjoyed mowing her lawn, making squash pies, and visiting friends and family. "Mom" faithfully attended Linville Creek Church of the Brethren, where she was a deacon, and served in various capacities. It was "Mom's " wishes to be cremated.

It is at Linville Creek Church of the Brethren, that Grandle Funeral Home will lead a Celebration of Life with Rev. Paul Roth officiating, on Saturday December 29, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. The family will begin greeting family and friends at 2:00 P.M., prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, those who can and wish, are asked to make a donation to the Broadway Volunteer Fire Dept., where she was a member and past president of the ladies auxiliary.
